Hi im a journo i applied for a job and i was told to write an article about people with disability to test my journalism.I would like to ask you 2 questions.1.how do you deal with hate speech?{like the other question that asked why you were ugly}2.{personal question} What happened when you had the stroke?
Anonymous1. Don’t feed the trolls! (I’m a hypocrite, I know.) I had never experienced any “hate speech” until that lovely tidbit appeared in my inbox. I’m not saying that other derogatory things haven’t been said about me , only that they haven’t been said to me directly. My first reaction was sheer amazement. I thought to myself ’Is this really what people spend their free time doing? ’ , after that I immediately laughed and shared it with a friend. I know that i’m far from perfect but the person who wrote that about me is obviously more damaged than I am.
2. Initially, I couldn’t move anything. I was completely paralyzed. I had no feeling whatsoever, I couldn’t eat so I was on tube feedings, I practically had no voice, and I was on a ventilator 24 hours a day. I’ve come a long way since then. I hope that answers your question.
